FOCA (Friends of Cambridge Athletics) is organizing the Fall Fundraiser-a Walkathon at Fresh Pond. Funds raised support Falcons teams in various ways-purchase of trophies awarded at the end of each season, scholarships for graduating seniors, grants for teams and more. The majority of the funds that student-athletes raise go directly into their team accounts, and we hope that your student-athlete has been working on getting pledges to support her/his team!
The Walkathon will be held on Sunday September 28, 2014 at 9 a.m. It will start by the Water Treatment Facility at Fresh Pond.
We need many parent volunteers to help run the event and hope that you can join us! We need help between 8:30 and 12 noon. There are several tasks available:
- Signing student/athletes in,
- Collecting and counting the money for your child’s individual team,
- Handing out tee shirts, and
- General organization and clean up.
We need at least one parent from each team in order to make this event a success.
There will be CRLS “swag” (tee shirts, hoodies, etc.) for sale on-site during the event.
Please contact Amy Bamforth (firstname.lastname@example.org) to volunteer or for more information.
Thank you for helping to maintain the practice that Cambridge student-athletes do not have to pay to play!
We look forward to seeing you there!
